Aranearum Island is the island where Eugene's son, Paul and Eugene's other friends live. It is also home of the supernatural monster known to the locals as Charles. The island has a number of mining sites, including the three Primary Mines created by the Charles Mining Company. Aranearum has no other transportation system other than trains and train tracks run near or directly to most important locations. There are modern structures on the island that are mostly made of wood and are rather roughly built with few amenities. Also on the island are ancient stone ruins both above and below ground which may have a connection to Charles. The island is temperate with large numbers of pine trees, though at the time of the game it is warm and the island experiences frequent rain showers and thunderstorms. There are many Quests to complete and NPCs to meet on the island in the struggle to defeat Charles.

- The name Aranearum is a Latin word, Aranearum is derived from "Aranea" which means "Spider" and is the taxonomic order to which spiders belong, which can be a reference to Charles.
- Much like how Charles is inspired by Thomas the Tank Engine, Aranearum Island is seemingly inspired by the Island of Sodor, the main setting of the Thomas the Tank Engine franchise. The most notable difference being the atmosphere, as Sodor is bright, cheerful and highly-populated, while Aranearum is dark, gloomy and practically deserted.
